On October 27, 2010, CARGOSPED celebrated the opening of its container terminal in Warsaw after complete modernization. The event was held in the presence of Wojciech Balczun, PKP CARGO’s CEO, members of the Management Boards of the companies from the PKP CARGO LOGISTICS GROUP, Pol- Dróg’s CEO – modernization works contractor, together with CARGOSPED’s customers and business partners.
Bogusław Ney, CARGOSPED CEO, stressed that the opening ceremony is a finish line of an important investment project which lasted for almost a year, and a formidable occasion to thank all the people engaged in the modernization work, i.e. contractors and the terminal workforce thanks to whom everyday work at the terminal was executed despite difficulties. The modernization project included a complete change of stacking and handling yard pavement, extension of the yard, replacing the old fence by a new one, monitoring system installation, modernization of electrical, sewage and railway track systems. Also, a new administrative building has been built at the terminal and the access road has been renewed. One of the highlights of the event was cutting the symbolic ribbon, stretched between two reachstackers, by Bogusław Ney, CARGOSPED’s CEO, and Wojciech Balczun, PKP CARGO’s CEO.
